Ocotal Beach, the gateway to the Gulf of Papagayo, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Although small in size measuring just a little under a third of a mile, the beach has some of the most beautiful black sand in the world. Guests visiting the beautiful Ocotal Beach are treated to beautiful turquoise water perfect for scuba diving, snorkeling and scuba diving particularly at the south end of the beach.

Catalina Island is located very nearby but Ocotal Beach is not nearly as crowded and offers very similar conditions. Many tour operators offer great trips to Catalina Island for fun activities.

The island is easy to get to since it is located only a little over 24 miles from the international airport located at Liberia. Many companies offer transportation from the airport to Ocotal Beach.

A visit to Ocotal Beach is an ideal vacation for those desiring an action packed vacation with fewer crowds. There may even be health benefits to visiting. Getting there is easy; forcing yourself to leave will be hard!
