For decades this celebration has been considered by many as something unrelated to the Costa Rican culture, however new generations of “Ticos” are trying to reintroduce the festivity and year after year the influence seems to increase considerably. It’s relatively easy to buy a Halloween costume in Costa Rica or the accessories to make your own, prices vary a lot but in general they are affordable. The best location to enjoy Halloween in Costa Rica is the capital city San Jose where most restaurants, bars and clubs embrace the celebration throughout the month of October.
When it comes to celebrating Halloween in Costa Rica you should keep your expectations within a reasonable range, Costa Ricans tend to spice up any celebration with their unique cultural approach.
