Costa Rica is a place worth visiting for most tourists from all over the globe. This country stands as the most visited in Central America given the fact that it receives more then 2 million tourists during the year. Moreover, its touristic activity overpasses some of the most important economies such as Coffee and Bananas.
Some of the most important activities include rainforest canopy, horse riding at the Caribbean beach, waters heated by active Costa Rica volcanoes, blue waters, and a wide variety of animals like scarlet macaws, crocodiles, and sea turtles. Those activities take place into the different National Parks and Protected areas in the country.
People from different countries can get to Costa Rica by different airlines such as Continental, American Airlines, Delta, Iberia, Martinair, and Condor. Iberia is a local airline that offers flights from different places in the US as New Orleans, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. There are different seasons in the country so that people can decide a good time to visit. For example, visitors planning to have sunny vacations may visit Costa Rica from December 15th to April 15th. This short period is considered as the dry season. On the other hand, the rainy season usually takes part during all year round. This is worth considering since many attractions are rain forests.
Some of the most important attractions in Costa Rica are the Cerro Chirripo, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio Park, and Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. All these places are very rich in vegetation and fauna.
Transportation in Costa Rica can be a real challenge if tourists are not aware of the geographic conditions of the places they are going to visit. Visitors can use regional buses to move around places. This mean of transportation is usually cheap, here visitors are charged no more than 1 dollar for a 30 minute ride. Also, visitors can opt for a taxi to move around places. These taxis usually charge about $10 dollars for a 15 min ride. Roads in this country are a big challenge since some of them are difficult to drive on given the geological characteristics of the regions. Costa Rica car rental should be considered consciously since most roads get muddy or blocked during rain seasons. For that reason, visitor may determine if renting a compact or a 4×4 car to get to a destination.
Certainly, visiting Costa Rica through car is a good idea since visitors can get to interesting places before they arrive to their final destination. For instance, people visiting the Arenal volcano may stop at the Sarchi Village where they can find artisans and a wide variety of handcrafted items and souvenirs. However, it is easy to get lost in the roads of Costa Rica given the fact that there are few or no street signs, addresses, nor GPS when trying to get somewhere. Most of the time, visitors have to rely on spoken locations and addresses if they have no touristic guidance.
According to this, visitors can plan their vacations in advance in order to get the best of every location. Of course, there are some other things to consider such as vaccines, visa requirements, and clothing before getting to Costa Rica for vacations.
