Through the months of August to October, there are many schools of tuna that are in abundance. Some of these tuna can even weigh by as much as four hundred pounds. There are also the roosterfish that can be found from November to March around the Papagayo Resort. You can also find large Marlin, Wahoo, and brightly colored Dorado fish in this same area.

If you are looking for billfish then you should head to the Central Pacific Coast. The Los Suenos Marina is abundant in marlin and sailfish. If you want to visit these places the best time for vacations is December through April as they are abundant during these months. If you are searching for the Dorado then the best time to travel is during the months of May to October. The snappers, snooks, roosterfishes, and wahoos are also abundant in this area.
