Successful Vacations in Costa Rica

Located to the south side of Nicaragua and bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the west and south, Costa Rica is one of the most important countries in national parks, protected areas and a great place for adventurous vacations.

Ecotourism is one of the most important aspects of the country’s economy including coffee and banana exportation. Costa Rica, whose name translates “rich coast”, owes its name to its large variety of forests, vegetation, nature, and water sources. Actually, Costa Rica stands as the most visited countries in Central America region, receiving more than 2.0 million foreign visitors every year.

According to this, some of the most important attractions in Costa Rica are:

Palo Verde National Park: this park has a wide variety of birds and aquatic life. People can get there through boat given that it has no good trails system.

La Fortuna de Bagaces: this place provides wonderful waterfalls and swimming holes at their base. Similar to Yellowstone Park, this has different forests, sleepy volcanoes, and mud pots. Moreover, there is a bull ring nearby where people can enjoy the regional bull fights during their vacations.

Cerro Chirripo: this place is perfect for such visitors who enjoy strenuous trekking and climbing through seven different ecosystems. This is a good place to learn more about natural history.

Manuel Antonio Park: this park, which is twice the size of the Central Park in New York, has one of the last patches of tropical wet forest.

Monteverde: this park has various weather conditions like cold, wet, and wind. This private reserve provides easy access to the Cloud Forests. This park has good tourist infrastructure for everyone who wants to have a pleasant vacation in the Costa Rican mountains.

Old Port of Talamanca: this port is located in the beaches surrounding the Caribbean Sea. This offers different places such as restaurants where visitors can enjoy different foods such as sea fish dishes, coconut curries, spiced breads, and home made cheese. This park also has a wide variety of birds, monkeys, sloths, and reptiles.

People who visit these places may have different activities as canopy, boating, trekking, horse riding, thermal mud and natural swimming pools, and animal observation. Some of the most common means of transportation are taxis and buses. Prices for taxi and bus services are often cheap no matter how long it takes to get to another location. Renting a car is also a good option for those who enjoy stopping at different places. The type of cars to be rented is quite important given the fact that some places can only be reached with a 4×4 car.

Costa Rica has two important airports: San Jose and Liberia Airport. They are relatively close to most attractions in the country. However, it is necessary to design a plan in order to spend less time by travelling from one location to another. Airliners in the United States that provide flights to Costa Rica are: Continental, American Airlines, Spirit Air, Frontier, US Air, and Delta. These are companies that provide regular flights to Costa Rica: Iberia, Condor, and Martinair.
