Here you can approach an old lava flow or see newer volcanic rocks and ash. Arenal Lake, with all its beauty can also be found in the park.

Another natural wonder of the lovely country of Costa Rica is the Tortuguero National Park. You can either stroll through a portion of the rainforest or take a boat ride through the park. While traveling through the park on boat, you will be able to see fabulous wildlife like toucans, howler monkeys, and sloths. If you are lucky, you might also get to see the endangered green turtles laying her eggs in the nesting area.

If you are interested in archeological vacations, be sure to check out the Guayabo National Monument. Made up of only 217 hectares of land, the wildlife viewing is not as abundant as in other places in Costa Rica. What you will find though is evidence of man some 2,500 years ago. What the site really focuses on is a time period of 1200 to 700 years ago. The remains of a civilization that appeared to be excellent craftsman can be found here. There is also evidence of cobblestone walkways and aqueduct systems.
