Visit the San Jose Province in Costa Rica!

San Jose, is the largest and youngest city in Costa Rica, also center of its government, here you can enjoy museums, restaurants, and other exciting nightlife. There are also movie theatres, don’t worry the majority of the movies are in English with subtitles in Spanish.

As the rainforest is teaming with life so is the city. If you are a coin collector visit, the “Museo de la Moneda” with information and samples of coins. Other museums to visit are the Jade, Civil War, Art, and Science and Entomology.

Easy access to everyone by bus or taxi! Visit the beautiful architecture and landmarks. Remember to dress warm because at the high mountainous altitude it can get very cold, with lots of rain each year! Restaurants you can enjoy are Tintos y Blancos if you’re into wine and southern dishes, Ichiban for sushi and ethnic, A Churrascaria Brasileira for Brazilian food with emphasis on protein, Machu Picchu Peruvian Cuisine probably named after the famous Peruvian sanctuary and more; over hundreds to choose from!

There are Atm’s located in numerous locations and be aware that some places on the outskirts of town might only accept cash. Not all places will accept debit/credit so bring a little of both, also check out The United States Embassies for rules for touring in foreign countries! One thing’s for sure you need a passport, and check out their department of health so you know of any vaccinations you need and what diseases to look out for.

If you have health problems stick to bottled water to lessen your chance of any disease, and also be sure to keep your purse and valuables very close while on vacations, never hurts to be extra careful.

If you’re looking for adventure you can go white water rafting on the Pacuare River, with two other rivers nearby to enjoy the sights and sounds!

The rainy season is from May to November, and the dry season December to April. Summer months occur when it is winter in the northern hemisphere. Definitely bring a raincoat and umbrella! Always be aware of the weather.
