Despite being a Costa Rican and travel the country extensively there are several locations I often fail to visit mainly because as many I tend to choose the most popular destinations over those unknown (I´ve had some negative experiences in the past when relying on my instincts), recently I came across a great opportunity to visit one particular beach that I overlooked for a long time. This wonderful beach is Dominical located in South Puntarenas.

Manuel Antonio National Park is the smallest national park in Costa Rica. The park is located on the Pacific Coast of the country in the province of Puntarenas, several miles south of the town of Quepos. There are 1700 acres of land and 135,000 acres of marine habitat within the protected area. Manuel Antonio has gorgeous beaches with several islands just offshore, lush rainforests and mangrove swamps, and many types of wildlife.

Bejuco Beach is a secluded beach in Costa Rica that makes an amazing day trip or relaxing and secluded vacation hideaway. Set just 20 minutes south of Jaco, Bejuco offers a quiet vacation set away from nightlife. The town has little in the way of commercial businesses although it is beginning to start more development. Many residents here make their living by offering fishing tours on their small boats and by agriculture.
