Puerto Viejo - Costa Rica

Puerto Viejo town is a renowned Caribbean concoction of the gorgeous beaches, spectacular hinterland and an array of fun-filled activities and entertainment options for the guests. The city is spiced up with the vibrant nightlife, country music and parties in the night. Even the one-of-a-kind restaurants serving some scrumptious varieties of dishes are some of the popular hangout joints for locals and visitors alike. The city also organizes the popular South Caribbean Music Festival every year. People from all over the world come here to enjoy this month-long festival and the local concerts.

Puerto Viejo city has a number of pristine beaches with azure water. You can enjoy swimming, snorkeling and a number of fun-filled water activities here. Apart from the water activities at the sun-kissed sandy beaches, tourists also love the mountain biking and horseback riding here. Whether you want to go for the world-class surfing or scuba diving, in this city you will find a number of things to see and do. You can also plan to visit the nearby Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge and the Cahuita National Park and observe the area’s incredible types of wildlife.

Other attractions include the Finca La Isla Botanical Gardens, which houses a wide collection of native tropical flora. Here, you will see a variety of medicinal, commercial plants and some wild flowering plants as well. You can also take the rainforest trails to roam around the whole garden. You can also plan to go on the Green Iguana Conservation Tour in Playa Chiquita to check out the endangered Iguanas and to learn more about their life.
